Down South again

Äiti yllätti minut ja varmaan myös itsensä viime viikolla, kun hän tiistaina ilmoitti ostaneensa lennot Australiaan ja saapuvansa sitten torstaina. Oho! Ihan mukava yllätys ja hyvä syy reissata ja turisteilla taas :)

Pikaisista suunnitelmista huolimatta saimme aikaan oikein mukavan ensimmäisen viikonlopun yhdessä perhetuttujemme kanssa. Ajoimme jälleen alas Länsi-rannikkoa kohti Margaret Riveriä, tarkemmin sanottuna 3 tunnin matkan päässä olevaan Busseltoniin Cherietä, meillä asunutta ex-vaihtaria, ja Cherien perhettä moikkaamaan. Oli mieletöntä tavata kaikki taas monen monen vuoden jälkeen!

Busselton on noin 20 000 asukkaan pieni kaupunki Margaret Riverin liepeillä, ja päivät kuluivat leppoisesti alueen rantoja ihaillen, lampaita ja kenguruita bongaillen sekä hyviä ruokia ja viinejä maistellen. Sen suuremmitta tarinoitta antaa kuvien puhua puolestaan!

Mom surprised me and probably herself as well last week, when she announced on Tuesday that she had now booked flights to Australia and would be arriving on Thursday. Impressive! Nice surprise and a good reason for me to travel and be a tourist once again :)

Despite the short notice we managed to make ourselves a wonderful weekend. Together with Cherie, a former exchange student who lived in our place years ago, we drove down South towards Margaret River, to Busselton more precisely, to find her family. Amazing to meet them after all these years on the other side of the world! 

We had a very relaxing and lovely weekend together with our hosts. Busselton is a small town of 20 000 people just next to Margaret River, and our days passed by admiring the beaches, finding sheep and kangaroos, eating good foog and sipping local wines. Without longer stories I let the pictures to speak for themselves!
